Insurance first 
Proof of liability insurance is required before submitting an initial license application. 

What are other initial licensing requirements in my state? 
Obtain 600 education hours, pass the MBLEx or NCBTMB exam, submit proof of liability insurance, complete a criminal background check, and send proof of CPR training. 

What are the licensing renewal requirements in my state? 
Licenses must be renewed every two years. Show proof of 20 hours of CE. At least 2 CE hours must be in ethics, and 1 CE hour must be related to massage laws and rules. If you complete more than the require 18 hours of CE in a renewal cycle, 18 hours of CE can be carried into the new renewal cycle.
