What are the initial licensing requirements in my state?
Obtain 600 education hours, pass an approved exam (NCBTMB, MBLEx, NCAA, NBCA, Ohio state exam, and the New York exam), submit a passport-style photo, and send a copy of school transcripts.
What are the licensing renewal requirements in my state?
Licenses must be renewed every two years. Show proof of 12 hours of CE. Three CE hours must be in ethics. Remaining hours can be related to business practices, science, and techniques related to massage therapy.
Are some practitioners exempt from licensure?
Services that use touch, words, and directed movement to deepen awareness of existing patterns of movement. These services may include the Feldenkrais Method and the Trager Approach. Other exemptions include polarity therapy.
